Employment opportunities are available for experienced and qualified medical transcriptionists seeking full-time at-home positions. Minimum production standards and quality of work will determine pay rate. Certified medical transcriptionists are paid a differential. Opportunities for supervisors and editors are available. Benefits include health, dental, SIMPLE IRA, and holiday pay for full-time producers, as well as reimbursement for successfully passing AAMT's certification exam.
The ideal candidate for employment at PPT:
- Has completed an on-line course in medical transcription and has passed the final exam with at least 92%. (see references below)
- Has been employed full time in an acute care setting (hospital/clinic) for a minimum of 2 years
- Will be available to work 6 to 8 hours per day for 5 days out of any week
- Has interest in continuing education and certification
